Usually we do not post negative posts as we do not want to fall under the "bitchy blog" category but we feel that after this mornings announcement of Lady GaGa's upcoming tour something must be said. Does anyone remember when she came to Australia in 2011 and did interviews sprouting the fact that she was going to come and "stay for a while and tour like Pink did" well looking at the dates of the Born This Way Ball Tour today this information (just like the one where Madonna approved of "Born This Way" which also turned out to be a lie) is incorrect. Lady Ga Ga we love you and your music but saying one thing and doing another is really not acceptable anymore especially when you are a role model for so many. Kelly Rowland has enjoyed an amazing year of success both on the charts and on TV and after the sexy videos for her last two singles this video is a welcome change to show the softer and romantic side to Ms Rowland.

Actor Lance Gross joins her in the Parisian style video and features stunning cinematography, and while the song is an acceptable ballad it definitely is not the strongest song on the album but the video alone is a complete step away from her usual offerings.

The original Sugababes are back together!

Our good friends over at TheProphetBlog predicted earlier that the original Sugababes line up of Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan would re-form as Sugababes 4.0 disastrous last album followed by a "free" Amazing giveaway single Freedom. The original three made an amazing pop album titled One Touch with still their best hit to date Overload.

The reforming will see a nasty blow to Sugababes 4.0 who kicked last standing original member Keisha out in 2010 sparking a massive fan uproar and resulted in the following album and singles being re-recorded with new member Jade McEwan who have no plans to record anything in the near future as confirmed by Heidi in an interview two days ago.

For those who were not around in the early 00ies posted below are some of the hits from One Touch and are pop stand outs still to this day. Rumours are that the new sound for the original three is absolutely amazing, it has a massive influence from One Touch infused with 2012, with strong soulful lyrics and a very British sound which is what the Sugababes were all about in the first place.

Welcome back the original three to pop music stardom! Finally a reason to be excited about music in 2012!

Arguably the biggest pop/dance crossover acts of the 90's, AQUA are making their long awaited return to Australia this summer to perform all of the number one hits that made them a household name the world over and saw them sell in excess of 33million albums and singles.

With songs like Barbie Girl, Doctor Jones and Lollypop (Candyman), sweet-toothed Australian pop fans embraced AQUA making this country one of the most successful markets for the group. Featuring the original line-up of vocalists Lene Nystrøm and René Dif, keyboard player Søren Rasted and Claus Norreen on guitar, AQUA are set to rekindle their Australian love affair by bringing the pure pop delight they are famous for to life right across the country.

Claus Norreen and Søren Rasted started writing songs together in 1989. The pair then met keyboardist René Dif after hiring the musician to come and work on a soundtrack that the pair had won a competition to produce. After sensing that the trio shared a great musical chemistry it was decided they would work together on future projects. On seeing vocalist Lene Nystrøm singing on the Norway–Denmark ferry Dif knew that he had found a vocalist to work with the newly formed trio and AQUA's first incarnation as Joyspeed was born.

As the band began to develop their trademark bubblegum dance pop sound they renamed themselves AQUA and landed themselves a record deal with Universal Music Denmark, it was this union that lead to the band's debut release under their new name. The track Roses are Red was a surprise hit for the group going platinum in Denmark, as did it's follow up Oh Me Oh My which broke all Danish sale records. From here AQUA commenced work on their debut album Aquarium which contained their biggest hit Barbie Girl.

Despite the single's overt sexual inuendo (and the lawsuit with Barbie's manufacturer Mattel that ensued), Barbie Girl went on to be a super smash hit landing number ones for the band in the UK and Europe, and a top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. In Australia Barbie Girl remained at the very top of the ARIA charts for three solid weeks. More success followed with the singles Doctor Jones, Lollypop (Candyman) and Turn Back Time, cementing AQUA's place as one of the biggest acts of the 90's.

As the group started to stretch themselves musically exploring different sounds so to did the cracks slowly appear, after the release of the band's second album Aquarius and in 2001 the band and a relentless touring schedule the band suddenly split in 2001. With the band on indefinite hiatus each individual member busied themselves with various solo projects before reconvening in 2007 on release of their greatest hits album. Now in 2011 AQUA are back with a brand new album Megalomania and a renewed desire to bring their music to fans live around the world.

It has been a massive year for music in 2011, who knew that Adele would stick round all year with 21 and knock out any competition who tried to get to number 1 and stay there too long. Lady GaGa's second album would dominate the charts and spawn 4 singles (and still counting!) while Britney Spears would see a massive gain in sales and produce an album you can play from start to finish with no skipping? Or that Beyonce would release an album that was nothing like anything else she has done before and that everyone would like it?

It truly has been a great year for music! There were so many good and bad singles and albums and trying to sift through them all to find winners was near impossible this year but after some long hard debating and discussing the final votes are in! Check out the winners below!

Rihanna has become an unstoppable force in pop music in the last few years and after several number ones and albums that boast more album fillers than singles comes the album of her career. Talk That Talk takes everything to the next level and is a strong contender for pop album of the year.

Talk That Talk is in Australian stores Saturday November 19 a mere 6 days away and while previous albums Loud and Rated R were big hits here this album takes everything to the next level. Normally a new album means a new look and new side of the singer. This time around Rihanna hones in on a combination of her Loud and Rated R persona and perfects it to the point of complete surprise.

By doing this Rihanna has created an album that is louder, raunchier and sexier than anything she has done before and the results are an audio orgasm from start to finish. When she promised a solid album from start to finish she not only delivered on that promised but she went several steps further that makes this album not only the best of her career but for 2011. Be gone Born This Way, Fare thee well Femme Fatale and while she couldn't outsell 21 (really at this point who could apart from Michael Jackson) it outworks these albums in every single way.

Enlisting hit producers Dr Luke, Stargate, Bangladesh, Calvin Harris, Hit-Boy and Jay-Z the production list reads like an all you can eat menu for the most delicious meal you have ever eaten. The songs that have been produced are for the most part radio friendly but also take her lyrics and music to a deeper place than they have ever been.

The album opens with the second single "You Da One" slides open to a sexy urban island beat that is reminiscent of the Ri Ri that we are used to but there is a new found strength and confidence in her voice that shines through. As the song progresses a ridiculously amazing dub step style breakdown weaves in an out and this is going to be the summer track for Aussies.

Current number one single "We Found Love" featuring Calvin Harris has been the perfect intro to this album with the extremely sexy beats and thought provoking lyrics show why in the fickle world of pop music Rihanna has earned her place as one of pops biggest contenders. One of our favourite tracks "Where Have You Been" samples Geoff Mack's I've Been Everywhere, but then features a chorus inspired by Faithless with an orgasmic breakdown reminiscent of The Prodigy. It's this kind of blend that echoes throughout the album creating the most together and solid album of Rihanna's career.

The title track features rapper Jay-Z and is a throwback to Rated R and will definitely please her urban fans, this futuristic soldier track is one of the backbones of the album. the too short interlude of Birthday Cake should be converted to a full song for the impending re-release as it is one of the hottest songs Rihanna has ever done, the Bangladesh produced Cockiness stands out as the best song on the album that stitches together vocals, drums and horns is definitely the best song Bangladesh has produced in the past few years.

All of this amazing production would be nothing without lyrics to back it up. The whole album just reeks of sexual energy and you can really feel that Rihanna is moving into a sexually fulfilling era of her life and this album is very reminiscent of Janet Jacksons The Velvet Rope. The clever lyrics of "suck my cockiness, lick my persuasion" to the closing ballad "Farwell" which is definitely the best vocal performance Rihanna has ever delivered on any track in her career.

It's the combination of these elements that make Talk That Talk not only Rihanna's best album of her career to date while ensuring radio longevity and slaying every other pop album released this year. This album truly has something for everyone and proves that as far as bad bitches go Rihanna is still number one and with the amount of attitude and vocal improvement expect to see your other pop divas slayed this summer when Rihanna releases Talk That Talk in just 6 days time.

Before the release of Love many songs were leaking for months before and were rumoured to be part of the album, most of them where produced by The Dream and as you guessed were completely horrendous. The one song that stood out was produced by Rodney Darkchild Jerkins and was titled Hooked On You.

To this day I still strongly believe that this song should have been included on the album and been the second single but alas the record company went in a different direction and the $9.99 reduction of Love on I Tunes explains the rest.

After performing to sold out venues the one and only miss Janet Jackson has flown back home to be with her family as the Michael Jackson trial continues.

Dr. Conrad Murray is on trial in Los Angeles. He is accused of being negligent in his care of the superstar, who died in 2009 of an overdose of the anesthetic propofol at age 50.

The prosecution is wrapping up its case this week, and the defense is about to present its case. The Jacksons have been a regular presence at the trial; Janet Jackson was there at the beginning.

"When I planned these shows, the schedule in California was completely different," she said in a Sunday statement to The Associated Press. "After talking with my family last night, I decided we must be together right now. .... This saddens me in so many ways."

The shows for her "Number Ones" tour were scheduled in Melbourne on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday; to make them up, she'll perform one night, on Nov. 3, in Rod Laver Arena. She thanked her fans for their support and understanding.

Jackson also has the support of her promoter.

"It is important that Janet is with her family at this critical point in the hearing. While Janet and our company apologize for any inconvenience for the reschedule of the Melbourne shows, we thank Janet for the great and successful concerts in Perth and Adelaide and eagerly await her return. ... Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet and the entire Jackson family," promoter Paul Dainty said.

Is The World Strange Or Am I Strange? - Cosmo Jarvis

Cosmo Jarvis is the first artist I discovered this year who captured me musically and I became an instant fan. The very first song I heard from Cosmo was Gay Pirates. If you are a regular follower of Novastreamusic please stop rolling your eyes, I know I go on and on about how amazing this song and video is so this is my final word I promise! It was the song that thrust Cosmo into the spotlight (where he belongs!) when Stephen Fry sent out a tweet about the video which led to over half a million viewers (and still counting!) alerting the world that it was time to wake up and recognise the kind of artistry and technical brilliance that Cosmo emanates., and now on with the review!

The album boasts 11 amazing songs that vary in genre from rock, pop, rnb, reggae, heavy rock and even rap. The whole thing comes together in the most eclectically smooth blend of music that showcases what an amazing talent Cosmo is.

1) Gay Pirates - I won't say too much because you already know! This is one of the best songs of 2011 and still remains as the perfect pop opener to this album (from a gay guy to a straight one Cosmo THANK YOU for writing this track!)

2) Sure As Hell Not Jesus - The second single from the album, this rock song explores the issues of christians claiming to know God and then cash in on that power. Boasting lyrics like "I'm glad I made a friend that doesn't pray for me" another favourite on the album

3) Blame It On Me - This song is the perfect example of the incredible artistry that Cosmo radiates. The sheer beautiful instrumentation blend swish with lyrics "Blame it on me till the willow weeps" creates pure oral sensation for your ears. This is one of the most beautifully produced tracks in years.

4) Is The World Strange - My personal favourite on the album, the track explores the struggle of coming of age and discovering who you are. The spoken rap blends beautifully with the hauntingly resonant chorus that you will be singing for days.

5) Dave's House - An amazing idea, to have a house you can go and do whatever and it stays there. The song is all incredible catchy and I'm sure an inside joke among Cosmo friends, nevertheless you feel invited to Dave's house for "a chat and a beer"

6) Let Me Out Of My Head - An intrepid journey through the mind explores the dark yet safe feeling when you are in that place. The imagery is captured perfectly and mixed with melodic orgasms that will keep you going back for more.

7) The Talking Song - A reflective look on our society today through "the best friend you never made could be one foot away and end up anonymous because you never tried to say hey" and echoed through "I really don't think anyone knows anyone when to talk and so we don't because we're just not sure and this is why people kinda just wanna be alone" I could post the whole lyrics (don't worry I won't!) Lyrically this song is important for our time and generation.

8) The Wave That Made Them Happy - This rock pop track is very reminiscent of Radiohead but has that Cosmo flavour that makes it appetising. The instrumentation is flawless and it is here I will mention that Cosmo writes, produces and plays his own instruments.

9) She Doesn't Know - This is the perfect beach track, very Jason Mraz in style with an extremely catchy hook that you will be singing for days. Crank this one loud!

10) My Day - The third single from the album, one which Cosmo himself described as "All the generations prior to ours seemed to have better music, better movies, better work ethic, manners and standards of social conduct. I therefore felt imposing a bogus hindsight on my generation might be interesting" and he delivers. The heavy rock track emanates this attitude.

11) Betty - Ah where to start with Betty??? This is my equal favourite (Is The World Strange) and successfully blends several genre's into one (rock, pop, rnb, reggae) and running at 9 minutes and 46 seconds blends everything together to make the most anticipated live track of the album. This will be one to be seen live

Overall Cosmo has created the perfect album, shifting genre's whilst incorporating thought provoking and intelligent lyrics and re-invigorating interest with every new track this is the best album of 2011 and a personal favourite.

The band’s self titled debut EP is out now and has been met to rave reviews both here and abroad, picked up internationally by key US taste maker label Neon Gold (who were first to unearth the likes of The Naked and Famous, Ellie Goulding, Penguin Prison and Marina and The Diamonds). New remixes emerge this week from the likes of Van She Tech, Draper and the band themselves.

We could barely contain our excitement this morning with the official announcement that one of our UK favourite's Cosmo Jarvis is coming to Australia and yes he will be touring! Check out the details below

British singer-songwriter Cosmo Jarvis has already courted controversy with his viral sensation "Gay Pirates". The self-directed video for "Pirates" has received over half a million YouTube views following a twitter post by Stephen Fry. Continuing in the thought-provoking vein of "Gay Pirates", Cosmo also released the controversial video to his follow up single "Sure As Hell Not Jesus” which he wrote and directed himself, exploring the themes of shame and redemption from a papal perspective.

The brand new single, “My Day”, which has also been lifted from the album is a Prufrock-like exercise with Cosmo imagining himself as an old man looking back on his youth, criticising his generation’s self absorption and apathy.
“All the generations prior to ours seemed to have better music, better movies, better work ethic, manners and standards of social conduct – also the weed wasn’t as strong back then. I therefore felt imposing a bogus hindsight on my generation might be interesting.....” says Cosmo.
Cosmo Jarvis is a singer, a songwriter, an actor, a director, a composer, a producer and a multi-instrumentalist. He writes about topics ranging from his alienation from religion to the equal treatment of gay pirates (and he's completed nearly three hundred songs already). Cosmo is an extraordinarily talented twenty-one year old, and a genuine one-off. When Brian Eno is singing your praises, as he did recently - "he is a very interesting example to me of a new kind of person; a new kind of artist" - you must be doing something right.

Cosmo Jarvis will be in Australia in October this year. His album “Is The World Strange Or Am I Strange” will be released on FRIDAY 30 SEPTEMBER, through MGM.

his new single UKOK? on I-Tunes and YouTube. His last single was Coma in 2009 but this is the

1st single to be taken from his debut album, Reason...which is due out later this year.



The video for the song features news footage from the recent UK riots and Royal Wedding and

matches perfectly with the catchy indie pop/ rock tune.

The song is a perfect rock/pop blend that features the edgy Butler vocals that made the country fall in love with him back in 2007. It is about time the earlier Idol's started making a come back and getting their name out there. This is the perfect avenue for Butler to re-enter the music industry.
